- There is a shareware NFS client that loads in DOS, but is supposed to work in
- Windows called nfs022-?.zip, where ?=a letter. There are several different
- versions corresponding to a letter. I can't remember the site name, but do an
- archie on it.

- I need to call the gethostbyaddr function with winsock.dll.

- Do I have to call inet_addr() first.

- Subject: Problems with new MS TCP-32 and WFW 3.11
-
- Has anyone else experienced probems with Micosoft's new TCP/IP
- stack (the March beta) and Winsock apps?
-
- Specifically, WinQVT/Net 3.97, NCSA Mosaic for Windows 2.0A2,
- and HGopher 2.4 no longer work, or barely work, after I installed
- it. HGopher and Mosaic seem to wait forever to get a response
- from even our local servers (the resolution of names works, but
- they never seem to receive data from the host).
-
- WinQVT/Net "drops" characters VERY frequently. A look at the
- console shows hundreds of errors, almost all are:
-
- comm_write_char; send() error 10036
- comm_read; recv() error 10036
- comm_write_blk; send error 10036
-
- The net effect is the loss of every 4th or 5th character I type
- (VERY annoying).
-
- Any hints/suggestions/fixes? I'm running WFW 3.11 on a 486DX
- with a Digital DEPCA Turbo ethernet card (no Pathworks support
- is installed) with MS TCP/IP (March beta) and Netbeui.
-
- Thanx for your help,
- - Darryl

- This is a huge tsr that will allow winsock to communicate.

- These symptoms would indicate incorrect setup. MS TCP/IP-32 works
- even with the incorrect mask/gateway/IP number but is just that:
- slow and erratic. Double check your setup and consult your admin.
